Fandango Celebrates Quiche Lorraine Day Sunday, May 20th with a Bain Family Recipe!

If you like bacon, eggs and cheese then you need not miss National Quiche Lorraine Day. You’re more than welcome to leave the cooking up to the professionals at Fandango Restaurant in Pacific Grove and relax during your celebration.

 

Fandango Restaurant will be celebrating this National Holiday on Sunday, May 20th with a special menu addition. Pierre is sharing his families Quiche Lorraine recipe with customers at lunch only!

 

Would you like a slice?  In addition to their regular menu, Fandango will be offering Quiche Lorraine on Sunday, May 20th for lunch only. Lunch includes Quiche Lorraine and a choice of Soup or Salad and Profiteroles for only $14.95.

Fandango Restaurant Quiche Lorraine

Ingredients

1 recipe pastry for 9 inch single crust pie

  • ¼ stick of butter
  • 3 thick ¼ inch Ham, sliced and diced
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss Cheese
  • 1/3 cup chopped onion
  • 4 eggs beaten
  • 2 cups light cream
  • Pinch of Nutmeg
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions

 Preheat oven to 375 degrees

  • Sauté chopped onion and ham in butter for 5 min, put in pasty shell
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Pour mixture into pastry shell.
  • Bake for 35 min in preheated oven (375 F) or until a knife inserted in middle of pie comes out clean.
  • Allow quiche to sit for 10min before serving in wedges.

April 4th is National Cordon Bleu Day

Fandango Restaurant in Pacific Grove will be celebrating Pierre’s favorite holiday National Cordon Bleu Day with special menu additions on April 4, 2012.

 

Fandango will be offering Chicken Cordon Bleu for both lunch and dinner on April 4th only. Lunch Chicken Cordon Bleu will be served with Vegetables and Potatoes choice of Soup or Salad and Profiteroles $14.95. Dinner Chicken Cordon Bleu will be served with Vegetables and Potatoes $18.75.

Fandango Restaurant Chicken Cordon Bleu Recipe
Ingredients
• 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
• 4 slices Swiss cheese
• 4 slices prosciutto or ham
• ½ Cup Flour
• 1 Egg (beaten)
• ½ cup seasoned bread crumbs
• ½ stick butter
• Salt and Pepper to taste
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
1. Pound chicken breasts to 1/4 inch thickness.
2. Sprinkle each piece of chicken on both sides with salt and pepper. Place 1 cheese slice and 1 prosciutto or ham slice on top of each breast. Roll up each breast, and secure with a toothpick. Dredge in flour, dip in beaten egg, and roll in bread crumbs. Sautee in butter on both sides and bake for 10/15 min.
3. Remove toothpicks, and serve immediately
Serves 4

A Bit O’Irish Comes to Fandango For St. Patrick’s Day March 17th

Restaurateurs Pierre and Marietta Bain announced today that they will bring a wee bit of Irish traditions to Fandango on St. Patrick’s Day March 17th! For dinner, Marietta and Pierre will be preparing your choice if Irish Stew or Corned Beef and Cabbage for $17.95 each in addition to traditional menu items. There will be two drink specials in honor of the occasion: a Midori Cosmopolitan or Midori Sour ($5.00each).
 

Feeling the luck of the Irish? Dine at Fandango on St. Patty’s Day between 5:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. and enter your businesscard to win a mini-pot of gold – that is a $50 gift certificate to Fandango to be used on a return occasion. Need not be present to win.
